MDF General Fund
MDF is committed to funding the most promising, translational research and treatments to improve the quality of life for people with movement disorders.
We find, assess and support today's "undiscovered pioneers" in research and provide seed funding for projects that have a clear possibility of working at scale, but for which grant funding may be difficult to obtain. MDF funding accelerates such projects to a more reliable proof of concept.
Our weekly eNewsletter provides the latest advances and discoveries in movement disorders research each Thursday to individuals living with movement disorders and their care partners. Your tax-deductible contribution to our general fund helps underwrite critical administrative and programming support for these
MDF Young Investigator Pilot Grant Program
Young Investigator Pilot Grants (YIPG) fund “high risk/ high reward” translational and clinical research that establishes cross-disease analysis and investigation into the etiology, pathophysiology and/or treatment of multiple movement disorders. Small in scope, large in impact, we are the only grantmaker in Colorado that exclusively funds cross-disease research in the spectrum of clinical disorders that includes Parkinson's disease, dystonia, essential tremor, Huntington's disease and more.
These grants represent our foundation's greatest commitment to research that advances the prevention, treatment and/or ultimate cure for all movement disorders. Your tax-deductible contribution to our YIPG program can be designated to a specific category of disease research.
Movement Disorders Research News
We launched Movement Disorders Research News in 2022 with a simple aim - to bring the latest advances and discoveries in movement disorders research to individuals diagnosed with a movement disorder and their care partners.
From our first issue through today, the response has been tremendous - with an industry leading 46% open rate week in, week out. In August 2026, we issued the 200th edition of our weekly electronic digest.
